Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is a broad discipline involved in creating many of the computing and communication systems that are revolutionizing the world in which we live. What makes this field so exciting is that the sciences on which it is based–physics, mathematics, and computer science–are themselves expanding at a great rate.
Department of Engineering and Public Policy Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) addresses important problems in technology and policy. The department offers a research-oriented Ph.D. program and double-major undergraduate B.S. programs with each of the five traditional engineering departments and Computer Science.
Institute for E-Commerce The Institute for eCommerce is a joint program of the Graduate School of Industrial Administration and the School of Computer Science and serves as a focal point for Electronic Commerce activities at Carnegie Mellon, including degree programs, executive education and research.
Information Technology Services Qualification Center (ITSQC) The Information Technology Services Qualification Center (ITsqc) mission is to address the emerging need for capability models and qualification methods for organizations involved in the evolving Internet economy.
Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center is a joint Carnegie Mellon, UPitt and Westinghouse entity, set up to enable solutions to important problems in Science and Engineering by providing leading-edge computational resources to the national community.
Software Engineering Institute The Software Engineering Institute is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense. The SEI's core purpose is to help others make measured improvements in their software engineering capabilities.
Software Industry Center The Software Industry Center is the world's leading university-based center investigating cutting-edge trends in the global software industry.
